"The sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For 'by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.'"
Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 1285
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation usually happens in the 9th grade through the St. Pius X Youth Group. Those who desire confirmation should, under normal circumstances, have attended a Catholic school or Religious Education classes for one complete school year prior to the year of the reception of the Sacrament. Please contact Anne MacDonald for more information.
If you were baptized Catholic but never received the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact Cindee McColley to learn more about the formation required to receive this sacrament
Often times people desire to join the Catholic Church who were already baptized in a Protestant or Evangelical ecclesial community. We welcome you with open arms, and will help you join the Catholic Church based upon your individual circumstances. It may include the RCIA, but not necessarily. The culmination of this preparation will be your Profession of Faith and the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation and the Eucharist at Mass.
